Sharon Chandran, CPA, CA
Director, Accounting, Tax and Assurance
Sharon is a graduate of the University of Toronto where she completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1989. She obtained her CA designation in 1992 while working at KPMG Peat Marwick Thorne.
After obtaining her designation, Sharon realized that large public company audits were not her passion. She ventured out into industry gaining valuable business management and customer service experience as she progressed through various positions. She progressed to the position of Contract Controller in one of the largest property management companies in Canada.
In 2004, with a young family and after a little bit of coaxing, Sharon came back to the public accounting world and joined Lott & Company. Within a year of working with owner-managed business clients, Sharon became part of the management team and is now a Principal responsible for managing a large portion of the firm’s clients. She enjoys assisting her clients with the many issues that owner-managers face, including tax planning, capital preservation and succession planning.
For Sharon, one of the most rewarding things about working with Lott & Company is participating in the development of the firm’s managers and staff, in particular the students, who are working towards their designation.
Outside of the office, Sharon combines her creative and financial talents with the Markham Concert Band where she plays the French horn and is a member of the executive committee, serving as the Treasurer. She and her family live in Markham and are very active in the community, often seen participating in various community sports and arts activities.
